Diffusica makes its debut in Sassari on Thursday 22 October with four DJ set stations in the city centre. The free-entry evening will run from 7 to 11 pm and aims to accompany shopping with a musical route spread across streets and squares.
The format is promoted by K4U and features dedicated sound systems in the various areas involved. The idea is to bring music to several locations rather than concentrate it in a single square, and to invite the public to move between the stations. The initiative is aimed both at residents and at those visiting the centre that evening.
The route will take in Via Luzzatti, Piazza Cavallino de Honestis, Via Carlo Alberto and Piazza Tola. The four areas are spread across the heart of the city, and each will host a station. The format is designed to bring the streets along the route to life and encourage people to move between the different stops.
The music spread throughout the area is also the central thread of an initiative that aims to showcase the businesses along the route. Having several listening points can create opportunities for people to meet in urban spaces and make the centre livelier during shopping hours. Diffusica will consist of three events, spread between October and December, with the aim of accompanying the city through autumn and into the weeks leading up to the Christmas holidays.
After the opening evening, the schedule will continue on 12 November and 10 December. The two subsequent dates are also scheduled from 7 to 11 pm. The format will therefore keep the same time slot for all three events, offering a free evening of entertainment in the city centre.
For those wishing to take part, the key details are the dates, times and locations of the stations. Admission is free, and no ticket is required to attend the DJ sets. The route includes four points in the centre, while there are three events: the first takes place on Thursday 22 October, followed by the November and December dates.
