The Mad-Dog make it through the third Live of X Factor 2026. On Thursday, November 5, the band from Sassari secures a place in the next round with David Bowie’s Rebel Rebel, earning praise from all four judges and being saved by the public vote without having to face the sing-off.

For the group on Paola Iezzi’s team, Jukebox Night, dedicated to music from the Sixties and Seventies, is an opportunity to reveal a rawer, more sensual side. It’s a change the judges recognize and applaud.

Rebel Rebel: a new take from Mad-Dog

After performing first in the previous two Live shows, this time Mad-Dog take the stage in the second round, with televote number 10. Also competing in their group are Scraffs, Manu, Alex Fontana and Patrizia.

The assignment of Rebel Rebel came with a specific request from Paola Iezzi: to take more risks in their interpretation and stage presence, bringing out a more sensual side of the band.

The judges’ comments after the performance reflect this direction. Alongside the musical solidity they had already praised in previous weeks, this time they focus above all on the character of the performance.

The judges appreciate the band’s rawer side

Francesco Gabbani renews his praise for the four members from Sassari, appreciating a more stripped-back, raw performance. He also notes a greater sensuality, in keeping with the evening’s theme, and recognizes the band’s ability to show a different side. He remains curious, however, to see what artistic direction the group will take as the competition continues.

Jake La Furia also welcomes the change: alongside the impeccable sound of their previous performances, he had been looking for more grit, which he feels they have found this time.

For Irama, Rebel Rebel took Mad-Dog into different territory, without moving them entirely away from their usual style. He gives the performance a positive verdict.

Paola Iezzi links the transformation to the episode’s theme and the work that went into presenting the band in a more sensual guise. The judge is pleased with their ability to capture the rebellious spirit of the song, too.

The public vote saves Mad-Dog: they make it through the third round

At the end of the round, the public’s verdict is in: Mad-Dog make it through without a sing-off and secure a place in the fourth Live.

After their debut with Kasabian’s Club Foot and making it through the second Live with Mrs. Robinson, despite a technical issue with the vocals, the band has now been saved by the public vote for the third time in a row. The Sassari band’s journey on Paola Iezzi’s team continues.
