Jazz returns to the forefront in San Teodoro with six days of music spread across the sea, squares and nature. From 31 August to 5 September 2026, the eleventh edition of San Teodoro Jazz, the festival whose artistic director is Matteo Pastorino, will take place, once again expanding its horizons by bringing concerts and jam sessions to some of the area’s most evocative settings.
The programme brings together international artists and leading figures from Italy’s and Sardinia’s new jazz scene, including Logan Richardson, Giacomo Smith, Matteo Pastorino, Marco Valeri, Mila Trani, Marco Morandini, Chiara Atzori, Claudia Belli and Alessio Concas. New features of the 2026 edition include new venues, the return of the STJ Lab for children and a collaboration with Henri Selmer Paris.
The preview on Cala d’Ambra beach
The festival will begin on Monday 31 August at 8:30 pm on Cala d’Ambra beach, where the Blu Notte of the Cala d’Ambra Music Festival will host the San Teodoro Jazz preview, with a concert followed by a jam session by the sea.
The main programme will begin on Tuesday 1 September. At 6:30 pm, the Puntaldia piazzetta garden will host the Marco Morandini Trio, while at 10:00 pm the Food Lab will host the edition’s first STJ Session.
From MAST to Monte Nieddu
On Wednesday 2 September, the festival will take over the MAST, San Teodoro Archaeological Museum, with the STJ Lab, a free music workshop for children aged seven and over, followed at 6:30 pm by a concert from the Far Side Quartet, winners of the STJ Contest 2025. The evening will continue at Largo Emilio Lussu with another jam session.
One of the main new features will arrive on Thursday 3 September, when San Teodoro Jazz will reach Monte Nieddu for the first time. At Casa Pitrisconi, at 6:30 pm, Claudia Belli and Alessio Concas will present A bassa voce, a project for voice and bass that moves between jazz, singer-songwriter music and Mediterranean atmospheres.
At 9:00 pm, the festival will return to the centre of San Teodoro with the Marco Valeri Quartet in Piazza Gallura, before the late-night STJ Session at Kumbia.
The Selmer Day between the sea and Piazza Gallura
Friday 4 September will be Selmer Day, a day dedicated to the historic French house Henri Selmer Paris. At 6:30 pm, Costa Caddu beach will host a concert by Giacomo Smith and Saverio Zura, on clarinet and guitar respectively.
At 9:00 pm in Piazza Gallura, it will be the turn of Matteo Pastorino with “Chimera”, an original production by Insulae Lab combining contemporary jazz, electronics, voice, guitar and effects. Afterwards, at 11:00 pm, Gallo Blu will host a Selmer Jam Session with Giacomo Smith and other festival musicians.
Logan Richardson to headline the grand finale
The final day, Saturday 5 September, will begin at 6:30 pm in Lu Impostu with Mila Trani and Bartolomeo Barenghi, performing a concert for voice and guitar with Mediterranean sounds.
The grand finale is scheduled for 9:00 pm in Piazza Gallura, where US saxophonist Logan Richardson will take the stage with the project A Living Score, blending jazz, electronics and experimentation. At 11:00 pm, the final STJ Session will officially close the 2026 edition.
All events are free to attend, with donations welcome in support of the San Teodoro Jazz Cultural Association.
With a programme spread across Cala d’Ambra, Puntaldia, Monte Nieddu, Costa Caddu, Lu Impostu and the centre of San Teodoro, the festival thus confirms a formula that connects music with the landscape, turning the area into one great open-air stage spread across multiple locations for almost a week.
