The Municipality of Sassari has launched a search for private sponsors to support the funding, organization and promotion of events, cultural initiatives and public spaces. The call, published in the days leading up to 23 October 2026, covers events scheduled from November 2026 to July 2029 and aims to strengthen the area’s cultural and entertainment offering.

The events and locations listed include the Faradda di li Candareri, the Cavalcata Sarda, the New Year’s Eve Concert, the Christmas Village, A fora li brasgieri, the Rosello Fountain and Monte d’Accoddi. The list also includes initiatives and venues such as Monumenti Aperti, the Tavolara Pavilion and the former San Sebastiano prison. Sponsors may also propose new projects in the fields of art, entertainment and tourism promotion.

The administration led by Mayor Giuseppe Mascia intends to involve businesses and other private organizations operating in the area. «Now we would like to extend the “partnership” to private organizations that tie their name and success to Sassari and its territory», the mayor said, referring to the partnerships already in place with institutions, trade associations, retailers and artisans.

Sponsorships may be financial, technical or mixed, with annual or multi-year agreements. The threshold for becoming a main sponsor is €30,000 per year, in cash or through supplies; co-sponsors may contribute amounts ranging from €1,000 to €29,000. In return, the Municipality will grant official sponsor status on the materials and communication and promotion channels for the supported initiatives, in addition to the tax benefits provided for by law.

According to Culture Councillor Nicoletta Puggioni, private-sector involvement may also extend to activities and locations where their contribution is considered important. The Municipality’s search for sponsors is not new: it published similar calls in 2024 and 2025 as well. However, the thresholds in the 2024 call were different: €15,000 for main sponsors and €1,000 to €5,000 for co-sponsors. The Municipality has also announced Zucchero in Sassari.
