Torres drew 0-0 with Pescara on Saturday, October 31, at the Adriatico Stadium, in the 12th round of Serie C Group B. The Rossoblù, short-handed with eight players unavailable, contained the home side’s pressure and earned a point that takes them to 19 in the standings.

Alfonso Greco’s team approached the match with discipline, looking to disrupt their opponents’ possession and break forward. In the first half, Pescara threatened mainly down the left flank: in the 23rd minute, Ferraris scored with a header, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Parigi was caught offside soon afterwards, and in the 44th minute Erradi hit the crossbar, though the move had also been flagged for offside.

The Sassari side did more than just defend. Bunino tested Fiorillo in the 38th minute, while Zecca had a good chance before the break. After halftime, Masala forced the Pescara goalkeeper into action, and Giorico came close to hitting the crossbar with a long-range shot. Torres also won three consecutive corners, keeping up the pressure in the opposition half.

As the minutes passed, Pescara stepped up the intensity and found its way to goal several times. In the 54th minute, Zaccagno saved D’Ausilio’s shot; two minutes later, the same winger hit the post. The Rossoblù goalkeeper was also decisive in the 68th minute, denying Motta, and in stoppage time he kept out Parigi’s effort. Nardin had sent his shot over from a good position in the 64th minute.

Torres also looked to strike on the counterattack: Bunino and Masala had chances to break the deadlock, but neither found the net. Late on, the Rossoblù continued to press the players on the ball, while Corsinelli tested Motta with a shot that was deflected out for a corner. A VAR monitor check for a possible handball did not result in a penalty.

The match ended after five minutes of stoppage time, with Giorico replaced by Sotgiu because he was limping. The draw was the result of a collective, hard-working performance from the Sassari side, with the defense under pressure and the goalkeeper stepping up in the toughest moments.
