A mass of cold air moving down from Northern Europe will bring a gradual drop in temperatures to Sassaritoo, between Halloween and All Saints’ Day. Forecasts issued on October 28 point to a cooler weekend, but not a true cold wave in the Sardinian capital.

The change will be gradual. According to the Arpas bulletin cited in the forecast, Thursday, October 29 will be clear or partly cloudy, with temperatures between 13 and 22 degrees. A high of 21 degrees and a low of 13 are expected on Friday, October 30, with generally few clouds and light north-easterly winds.

The forecast for the following days is as follows:

  • Saturday, October 31, Halloween: highs around 19–20 degrees and lows between 10 and 11; sunny spells will alternate with clouds.
  • Sunday, November 1, All Saints’ Day: highs between 18 and 20 degrees and lows close to 9–10.
  • Monday, November 2: highs ranging, according to the different models, from 16 to 19 degrees.

For Halloween evening, 3bMeteo forecasts mostly or partly cloudy skies and a more noticeable drop in temperature after sunset. Anyone spending many hours outdoors should expect lower temperatures than in the afternoon: a jacket may come in handy, especially for children. At present, the forecast does not point to widespread bad weather in the Sassari area.

The cooling will also affect other towns in Northern Sardinia, with temperatures varying by location. In Alghero, the forecast high falls from 23 degrees on Thursday to 22 on Friday; in Castelsardo, it drops from 21 to 19. In Tempio Pausania, temperatures of 9 to 18 degrees are expected on Friday, while in Ozieri lows will reach 9 degrees and highs 21.

Over the weekend, skies are expected to remain generally mostly clear in the western parts of the island. More extensive cloud cover may develop in the eastern areas, with scattered showers possible; winds are expected to be light or locally moderate. The drop in temperatures is part of a flow of cold air moving mainly toward eastern Europe and parts of the Italian Peninsula: in Sardinia, the forecast points to limited effects, mainly in the form of lower temperatures.

You can also follow conditions across the island with the weather forecast for up to 16 days. In Sassari, the key point to bear in mind for evening outings is the difference between the middle of the day and the forecast lows: for All Saints’ Day, temperatures will approach 9–10 degrees, while Monday’s highs could fall to 16–19 degrees.
