The new Dinamo Sassari is beginning to reconnect with its supporters. On Monday, August 17, the PalaSerradimigni hosted the first open practice of the 2026-2027 preseason, allowing fans to watch coach Luca Vitali's team at work up close.
An event strongly desired by the club, which chose to bring preparations back to Sassari and open training sessions to the public in order to rebuild the relationship between the team and the city from the very first days.
Fans discover the new Dinamo
From the stands of the PalaSerradimigni, there was above all curiosity to see a deeply revamped roster in action following relegation to Serie A2.
On the court, the priority is already clear: building fitness, rhythm and chemistry, gradually giving an identity to the team that will face a long 38-game season.
Also present to watch the practice were president Stefano Sardara and sporting director Paolo Citrini.
The fans' involvement will not be limited to this opening day: during the preseason, the club has scheduled several open practices for the public at the PalaSerradimigni.
Kajami-Keane: “I want to win”
Among the most eagerly awaited new players is Kaza Kajami-Keane, a Canadian point guard who arrived from the German Bundesliga and has a special connection with Sardinia through his family.
The player said he had received excellent recommendations about Dinamo from two former biancoblù players, Scott Bamforth and Dyshawn Pierre, particularly regarding the PalaSerradimigni crowd and the Sassari environment.
The sporting message is very simple: “I want to win”.
Kajami-Keane also emphasized that the group is already building good chemistry despite only a few days having passed since preparations began.
Aromando: energy at the team's service
First impressions also came from Simone Aromando, who is expected to provide energy and versatility in the frontcourt.
The former Mestre and Pesaro player can be used both as a power forward and as a center, and considers this ability to adapt to multiple roles one of the most important characteristics of his game.
Aromando also highlighted the quality and experience of the roster assembled by the club, seeing the new adventure in Sassari as an opportunity to continue developing individually as well.
Dinamo wants to start again with its supporters
Opening training sessions to the public represents more than a simple summer initiative.
During the team's presentation, Dinamo had identified one of the goals for the new season as rebuilding the connection with Sassari and its fans, following a difficult season that culminated in relegation.
For this reason, after ten years, preparations are once again taking place in the city, and much of the preseason will remain in Sardinia.
The first contact at the PalaSerradimigni has been made.
The new Dinamo still has to be built, but it has decided to do so with the doors open and with Sassari once again close to the court.
