The new season of Raimond Sassari begins with a victory. At the PalaSantoru, the Rossoblù overcome Pallamano Trieste 31-24, securing their first two points of the 2026/2027 Serie A Gold season.
Ratko Durkovic's team takes control of the match as early as the first half, heading into the dressing room with a clear 19-11 lead and then managing their advantage in the second half.
Jarlstam and his teammates immediately drive Raimond forward
The start favors Trieste, who score the first goal of the match, but Sassari's response is immediate.
Raimond quickly overturn the score through Furtado and Pugliese, while Jarlstam becomes one of the hosts' main attacking outlets.
After a more balanced opening phase, Sassari gradually raise the pace. Nardin, Delogu and Jarlstam himself contribute to the surge that takes the Rossoblù to a 19-11 halftime lead.
Trieste try to fight back in the second half
The Giulian side attempt to reopen the match in the second half.
After Raimond reach 22-13, Trieste manage to partially reduce the deficit, thanks above all to Midtun, Gedak and Antoniutti. Sassari go through a few less-brilliant minutes, prompting Durkovic to call a timeout.
The Rossoblù, however, do not lose control.
Stojanovski, De La Santa, Mourino and captain Nardin restore a safe distance for the team, while Lubinati also makes some important saves between the posts.
A controlled finish at the PalaSantoru
In the final minutes, Trieste make one last attempt to close the gap, reaching 28-24.
Raimond finally put the match beyond doubt with three consecutive goals from Jarlstam, Furtado and Bargelli, setting the score at the final 31-24.
A convincing debut for the Italian runners-up, who start with intensity and repel their opponents' attempted comeback.
Two points in the early fixture of the third round
