Water supply will be suspended or may experience service disruptions on Tuesday, October 20 in Sassari and some areas of Stintino due to extraordinary maintenance work on the Coghinas 2 aqueduct. The work by Enas will interrupt the supply of raw water to the Truncu Reale and Monte Agnese treatment plants for around 16 hours; Abbanoa will use the same day to carry out work on the city network.

In Sassari, the longest outages will affect the neighborhoods supplied by the Monte Oro reservoir and pipeline: here the outage is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., for up to 13 hours. In other areas, the suspension will take place overnight. These are the details provided for the different areas:

  • Sassari, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.: Historic center, lower Monte Rosello, Sacro Cuore, Latte Dolce, Santa Maria di Pisa, Porcellana and Piandanna.
  • Predda Niedda: suspension scheduled from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • From 9 p.m. on October 20 to 8 a.m. on October 21: Lu Fangazzu, San Paolo, San Giuseppe, Monserrato, Tingari, mid-level Monte Rosello, Sassari 2, Badde Pedrosa, Monte Furru, Valle Gardona and Gioscari, supplied by the reservoir on Via Milano.
  • Sassari, regular service: the areas supplied by Monte Fiocca are excluded — Li Pinti, San Giovanni, Sant’Orsola, Caniga, La Landrigga, Bancali, Ottava, San Quirico, San Giorgio and the Bancali prison — as are those served by the Quota 300 reservoir in Serra Secca: Luna e Sole, Prunizzedda, upper Monte Rosello and Carbonazzi.
  • Stintino, Porto Torres and Alghero: in the built-up area of Stintino, supply will be maintained using reserves in the municipal reservoirs, while an outage is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Pozzo San Nicola and the surrounding countryside. In Porto Torres, Abbanoa is relying on the wells at Li Pidriazzi; in Alghero, service will be supported by the city’s reserves and the connection to Traversa La Crucca.

Enas will carry out work on the Coghinas 2 branch and the balancing tank at Truncu Reale. Abbanoa will also work on the water network junctions at Ponte Rosello and Predda Niedda, and on the pipeline serving Stintino. The times given are scheduled: once service is restored, normal water supply may take a further two or three hours to resume, especially on upper floors and at the ends of the network.
