Tuesday October 20 Enas will carry out extraordinary maintenance work on the Coghinas 2 aqueduct, suspending the supply of raw water to the Truncu Reale and Monte Agnese water treatment plants for around 16 hours. Different measures are planned in Sassari, Porto Torres, Stintino and Alghero to limit disruption; in some areas of Sassari and Stintino, water supply will be interrupted during set time slots.
Truncu Reale supplies Sassari, Porto Torres and Stintino, while Monte Agnese supplies Alghero. On the same day, Abbanoa will install new equipment at the water nodes of Ponte Rosello and Predda Niedda and carry out work on the Stintino main supply pipe. For information on the Coghinas 2 work and previous disruption, you can also read the September report.
The distribution plan drawn up by technicians takes into account reservoir reserves, alternative sources and the time needed to restore levels once production resumes. The following are the scheduled interruption times and measures planned in the different areas:
- In Sassari, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., supply will be cut off in the neighbourhoods supplied exclusively by Truncu Reale via the Monte Oro reservoir and pipeline: Centro Storico, Monte Rosello basso, Sacro Cuore, Latte Dolce, Santa Maria di Pisa, Porcellana and Piandanna. In the Predda Niedda industrial area, the interruption is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- From 9 p.m. on Tuesday until 8 a.m. on Wednesday, supply will be interrupted in the areas served by the reservoir on Via Milano: Lu Fangazzu, San Paolo, San Giuseppe, Monserrato, Tingari, Monte Rosello medio, Sassari 2, Badde Pedrosa, Monte Furru, Valle Gardona and Gioscari. No interruptions are planned in the areas supplied by Monte Fiocca or in the neighbourhood served by the Quota 300 reservoir at Serra Secca.
- In Porto Torres, service will be maintained by the Li Pidriazzi wells, replacing the supply from Truncu Reale. In Stintino, water supply in the town centre will be guaranteed by the reserves in the municipal reservoirs; in Pozzo San Nicola and the surrounding countryside, supply will be cut off from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- In Alghero, the Monte Agnese water treatment plant will be supplied from the reserves in the town’s reservoirs and via the Enas connection to Traversa La Crucca.
Restoring water supply may take an additional 2–3 hours, depending on the location of users and the position of the network’s terminal sections. When supply resumes, the water may be temporarily cloudy as the pipes are emptied and then refilled. To report problems, call the toll-free number 800.022.040, available 24 hours a day.
