It is time for the league campaign for Torres, ready to kick off the 2026/2027 Serie C season with a demanding away fixture. The rossoblù will take the field at the Armando Picchi stadium against Livorno, in the postponed match of the opening round scheduled for Monday, August 24 at 20:30.

For the team coached by Alfonso Greco, this will immediately be an important test after the 4-1 defeat to Spezia in the Coppa Italia. Regardless of the result, the match gave the staff indications to work on ahead of the start of the league campaign.

Greco: a braver approach is needed

One of the aspects Torres focused on during the week was, above all, their approach to the match. Against Spezia, according to Greco, the team had appeared too timid in the early stages.

Torres will therefore need personality, intensity and the ability to adapt, also taking into account the atmosphere at the Tuscan stadium and the quality of the team led by Cristiano Lucarelli.

There is good news from the defensive department, with the return of Antonelli and the arrival of Mamadou Kebbeh, a defender born in 2006 who has joined on loan from Cesena. The coach can also call on new wide player Francesco Corsinelli. Nunziatini's situation, however, remains to be assessed.

Livorno come off a Coppa Italia victory

Livorno go into their opening match after beating Reggiana 3-1 at home in the first round of the Serie C Coppa Italia. However, sporting proceedings concerning the result are still ongoing: the Emilia-based club has lodged an appeal over the alleged ineligible status of Tommaso Mancini.

Regardless of the off-field matters, Torres will face a team with several experienced players and traditionally passionate support.

For the rossoblù, the aim will be to get off to a good start and immediately send a signal after a difficult season: the new league campaign begins at the Picchi, with an away match that can already test the ambitions and condition of Greco's team.
