The Banco now have three wins from four games, giving the Sassari crowd their first home win of the season. Alessandro Grande was the star, scoring 22 points and stepping up when the game was tied again.
The Banco pull ahead, Cento fight back
Sassari gradually took control in the first half. After a 24-20 first quarter, the Biancoblù stepped up their defensive intensity and found more options on offense, building a lead that held through halftime: 47-32 at the break.
The lead, however, was no guarantee of victory. Cento shifted gears in the third quarter, capitalized on the Banco's offensive struggles and fought back to 54-54. Dinamo had to regain its composure to halt the visitors' comeback.
Three-pointers from Sean Flood and Nobili gave the home side some breathing room and sent them into the fourth quarter ahead 60-54, after a stretch in which momentum seemed to have swung in the visitors' favor.
Grande leads the way down the stretch as Sassari celebrate again
Grande came to the fore again in the fourth quarter, scoring crucial baskets and leading Dinamo to a decisive lead. The Banco regained their composure and protected their advantage through to the 80-70 final score, holding off Cento's last attempts to get back into the game.
Alongside Grande's 22 points, there were important contributions from Michele Vitali, who finished with 11 points, and Bryce Nze, who had 8 points and 10 rebounds. The win was built on contributions from across the team, especially valuable during the toughest spell of the night.
Sassari can take pride in their response: after seeing a 15-point lead disappear, the Biancoblù regained control and delivered the win their fans had been waiting for.
