The Dinamo Banco di Sardegna return to the market and add experience to the backcourt. The blue-and-white club have officially announced the signing of Brandon Tyre Young, an American combo guard with a Bulgarian passport who joins the roster for the 2026/2027 season.
Born in 1991 and standing 193 centimetres tall, Young can play both as a point guard and as a shooting guard, offering coach Luca Vitali a new option for ball-handling and offensive production.
His arrival is primarily linked to the absence of Kaza Kajami-Keane, who was sidelined by an injury sustained while on duty with the Canadian national team.
Young strengthens the backcourt
Dinamo have chosen a player with extensive international experience.
After his college career at DePaul University and the start of his professional career with the Texas Legends in the D-League, Young moved to Europe in 2015.
Over the years, he has played in Greece, Switzerland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Turkey and France, as well as more recently in the Chinese league.
The most significant achievements of his career include the Swiss championship and League Cup won with BBC Monthey, along with the Finals MVP award, as well as the Bulgarian Cup and Super Cup won with Levski Sofia.
Since 2023, he has also been part of the Bulgarian national team.
Kajami-Keane will not undergo surgery
Young’s official arrival also brings an important update on Kajami-Keane’s condition.
Dinamo announced that the Canadian point guard will not have to undergo surgery. The player will continue to be monitored by the blue-and-white medical staff throughout his recovery.
The club have not yet officially announced a precise date for his return to the court.

Experience and playmaking for Luca Vitali’s team
Young therefore arrives in Sassari tasked with bringing depth and quality to the rotations during a delicate phase of the preseason.
His ability to create plays and play both backcourt positions will give Vitali greater flexibility while Dinamo await the Canadian point guard’s recovery.
Meanwhile, the blue-and-white team continue their preparations for the Serie A2 2026/2027 season, with a roster that had already undergone extensive rebuilding over the summer.
Brandon Young’s arrival therefore represents an immediate response to the emergency, but also brings to Sassari a player with more than ten years of international professional experience.
