First major setback in the preparation of Dinamo Banco di Sardegna. Canadian point guard Kaza Kajami-Keane suffered an injury while on duty with his national team.
The player has already returned to Sassari and will undergo further medical tests in the coming days, needed to determine the extent of the problem and define his recovery plan.
At the moment, Dinamo has announced neither a precise diagnosis nor an official timeline for his return to the court.
Possible lengthy absence, but tests are awaited
According to reports from several sports sources, the absence could be longer than expected, lasting up to two or three months.
However, this is an estimate that has not yet received official confirmation from the blue-and-white club. The upcoming examinations will therefore provide a clearer picture of the Canadian point guard's condition.
An absence of this length would represent a significant problem for coach Luca Vitali, given the central role assigned to Kajami-Keane in building the new Dinamo.
Dinamo could return to the market
The injury could prompt the club to consider making a move in the market to provide the coaching staff with a temporary solution in the backcourt.
Kajami-Keane was chosen over the summer as the new blue-and-white playmaker. Born in 1994, the Canadian arrives in Sassari after an important European career and a season in Germany in which he averaged 14.1 points and 5.6 assists.
The point guard had already begun preseason training with his teammates before joining Canada for international duty.
Injury-hit preseason
Kajami-Keane's situation comes at a delicate stage of preseason preparation.
In the first friendly played in Vigevano, won 74-69 by Dinamo, the Canadian was absent because he was with the national team. Jeff Brooks and Riccardo Pisano were instead rested as a precaution, with the latter still being monitored by the medical staff.

Now the examinations are awaited
The priority, however, remains understanding when Kajami-Keane will be available again.
The Serie A2 season will begin for Sassari on September 27 away against Urania Milano, as set out in the Dinamo Sassari 2026/2027 schedule.
The upcoming examinations will therefore be decisive in determining whether the Canadian point guard can recover quickly or whether Dinamo will have to face the start of the season without one of the players called upon to lead the new blue-and-white era.
