Second away game and second league defeat for Torres, beaten 2-0 by Grosseto at the Carlo Zecchini stadium on the third matchday of Serie C Group B.

The team coached by Alfonso Greco struggle above all in terms of intensity against a young and aggressive Tuscan side, who gradually take control of the match and create several chances around Zaccagno's goal.

The goals from Ampollini in the first half and Fabri after the break give Grosseto all three points and halt the momentum the Sassari side were looking for after their home win against Sambenedettese.

Ampollini breaks the deadlock in the 39th minute

Torres initially try to contain the hosts' pressure, but as the minutes go by Grosseto raise the tempo and become increasingly dangerous.

In the 39th minute, the breakthrough arrives: Ampollini makes a run into the box and, played in behind, finds a first-time finish that beats Zaccagno.

Referee Mansour Faye reviews the action using Football Video Support, but finds no infringement. The goal is therefore awarded and Grosseto go into the break 1-0 ahead.

Torres emerge for the second half with a major change: Cristian Bunino replaces Giorico, making his debut in the rossoblù shirt just days after arriving from Cittadella.

The new striker arrived in Sassari aiming to find consistency and provide new options in attack.

Pennington hits the crossbar, then Fabri makes it 2-0

Torres' best chance comes in the 49th minute. After Antonelli's knockdown, Pennington heads the ball but finds the crossbar.

It was the moment that could have reopened the match. Instead, Grosseto strike again shortly afterwards.

In the 60th minute, Fabri scores the second after a brilliant individual move down the left flank, finishing with a shot into the far corner that leaves Zaccagno with no chance.

Greco tries to change the match by bringing on Masala, Carboni, Lunghi and later Sanat, but the rossoblù's play fails to produce enough chances to put the result back in doubt.

Corsinelli goes off with a physical problem

Making the away trip even more bitter is the departure from the pitch of Francesco Corsinelli, who was substituted around the hour mark after suffering a physical problem.

His condition will be assessed over the coming days.

For Torres, this is their second away defeat in two league away games, following the 2-1 loss at Livorno on the opening matchday.

The win against Sambenedettese therefore remains, after three rounds, the Sassari side's only victory. In Grosseto, above all, the team showed difficulty matching the pace imposed by their opponents and creating danger consistently.

Greco and his staff must now analyse a difficult performance, with the aim of quickly rediscovering intensity, balance and consistency in their play.
