Our weather section has a new feature: the rain radar. From now on, you can track observed precipitation on a map on the Il Sassarese Medio website, directly from the page dedicated to the rain radar for Sassari.

The radar lets you view rainfall intensity over the last 30 minutes, with an image every five minutes. It uses observations from the national weather radar operated by the Dipartimento della Protezione Civile, displayed on an OpenStreetMap map.

A new tool alongside the forecasts

The new feature complements our weather forecasts for Sassari up to 16 days ahead, where you’ll find temperatures, the probability of rain, wind and other details to help you plan your days.

The radar shows observed precipitation, not forecast precipitation. Also remember that the absence of color on the map does not guarantee dry weather, as it may be due to data coverage.

To try it, go to our weather section and select “Rain radar”.
