A new burst in the Coghinas 2 aqueduct, located in the territory of Castelsardo, has caused serious disruptions to the water network in northwestern Sardinia. The failure forced Enas to interrupt the supply to the Truncu Reale and Monte Agnese water treatment plants, making a 24-hour shutdown of the pipeline necessary for repair work.

To manage the emergency, Abbanoa has activated a task force in coordination with mayors and sensitive facilities. The situation is critical and follows previous water interruptions that have already affected the area in recent days.

Schedule of interruptions in Sassari

Supply suspensions in Sassari have been scheduled for various time slots between Wednesday, September 23, and Friday, September 25:

  • From 6:00 PM on September 23 to 8:00 AM on the 24th, and from 3:00 PM on the 24th to 8:00 AM on the 25th: interruptions for the neighborhoods of Li Punti, Predda Niedda, Centro Storico, lower Monte Rosello, Sacro Cuore, Latte Dolce, Santa Maria di Pisa, Porcellana, and Piandanna.
  • From 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM (on the nights between September 23-24 and 24-25): disruptions for Lu Fangazzu, San Paolo, San Giuseppe, Monserrato, Tingari, middle Monte Rosello, Sassari 2, Badde Pedrosa, Monte Furru Valle Gardona, and Gioscari.

Nurra and other affected municipalities

Neighboring areas will also experience interruptions. In the Nurra region of Sassari, between La Corte, Palmadula, Argentiera, La Pedraia, and Biancareddu, water will be unavailable from 12:00 PM on Thursday, September 24, until 11:00 AM the following Friday.

In Stintino, the center will be without water from 3:00 PM on September 24 to 11:00 AM on the 25th, while the Capo Flacone area and the countryside will see the shutdown from 12:00 PM on the 24th to 11:00 AM on the 25th. In Sorso, the interruption will affect Platamona and the countryside during the same timeframe (12:00 PM on the 24th to 11:00 AM on the 25th), while the center will be served by the Bidighinzu aqueduct.

As for Porto Torres, the supply will be guaranteed by the Li Pidriazzi wells, while in Alghero, the supply will be ensured via the connection to the La Crucca branch.
