The Torres secured three valuable points against Pianese, but the 2-1 result at the Vanni Sanna does not erase the doubts that emerged during a match in which they struggled for long spells. The victory came thanks to goals from Lorenzo Di Stefano and Luigi Scotto, the latter decisive from the penalty spot late on, after Leonardo Bellini’s equaliser. Pianese created numerous chances and squandered several opportunities to complete the comeback, while Torres had to rely on their ability to withstand pressure during the most delicate moments.

A defence still in need of work

The trip to Forlì on Saturday

The next fixture is scheduled for Saturday, 19 September 2026, away to Forlì, a side coming into the match with a record of two wins, two draws and one defeat. The Romagnoli have scored 11 goals, five more than Torres, despite having one fewer point in the standings: a statistic that makes a convincing defensive performance even more urgent.

To prepare for the away match, Greco will therefore have to work on compactness between midfield and defence and on managing second balls. The victory over Pianese confirmed Torres’ quality in decisive moments, but Forlì will offer a different test: greater concentration, preventive cover and a team capable of suffering without conceding so much will be needed.
