Torres has extended until June 2029 Lorenzo Di Stefano’s contract. The announcement came on Monday, October 5: the striker, who arrived in Sassari in the summer of 2025, will therefore remain with the Rossoblù for several more seasons after establishing himself in the team wearing number 7.

Di Stefano welcomed the renewal as confirmation of his relationship with the club and the local community: «This renewal is an important confirmation for me of the mutual trust we have built over time. I thank the club, the staff, my teammates and everyone who has been by my side and supported me up to this point». The new deal extends the previous one, which, according to Centotrentuno, ran until June 2028.

The 2002-born player, who turned 24 on September 19, joined from Modena after playing in Serie C with Campobasso. He had a difficult spell during his first few months in Sassari, but then turned things around: since last January, he has scored 18 goals across the league, relegation playoffs and Coppa Italia. This season, according to Centotrentuno, he has already scored seven goals in nine appearances across the league and cup.

The striker’s performances have been marked by quality, unpredictability and competitive spirit, qualities that have strengthened his role in the Rossoblù project. Recent highlights include his hat-trick against Ostiamare, which proved decisive in Torres’ victory: the comeback against Ostiamare ended 3-2. Captain Gigi Scotto had also said that Di Stefano had the potential to reach Serie B, urging him to find greater consistency in his performances.

The extension gives the club a stronger contractual position, including in the event of future interest from other teams. The Torres page considers it possible that a Serie B offer could arrive in the summer of 2027, but the renewal allows the club to approach any potential negotiations with a deal that still has a long time to run and the option of keeping one of the squad’s key players.

For Di Stefano, who found playing time and confidence in Sassari after a difficult start, the extension confirms the continuity of his relationship with the coaching staff and the team. Number 7 will therefore continue wearing the Rossoblù shirt until the end of the 2028-2029 season, while Torres will continue to count on his contribution in the league and cup competitions.
