At Vanni Sanna €1,981,811.38 has been allocated for a new series of structural works. The regional funding, requested by the Municipality of Sassari as part of its sports facilities plan, will be used for work on the grandstand and to complete the away supporters’ section, including measures to improve stadium safety.

The request submitted last September was for around three million euros. The amount awarded by the Region is just under two million and comes in addition to work already underway at the facility to bring it into line with the certification requirements for its division and Serie B, as well as other separately funded projects.

Some of the funding will go towards extraordinary maintenance work in various areas of the facility. In particular, work will be carried out on sections of the grandstand in need of repairs, as well as on several rooms that are to be modernized. The project also includes completing the away supporters’ section and making its entrances and exits safe, a necessary step towards stadium certification.

The grant does not cover the turnstiles. In February 2026, the Municipality of Sassari had approved a separate €1.1 million project for these and other works at the sports complex, which also includes LED lighting and work at the tennis facility. This is therefore a separate funding stream from the resources allocated to maintenance and the away supporters’ section.

The resurfacing of the playing field was also covered by separate funding: in May, the Municipality announced that it had been awarded one million euros in regional funding for the new grass pitch. As part of another initiative, two pitches were completed at Vanni Sanna in August, one for five-a-side football and one for seven-a-side football. The overall picture therefore includes projects with different aims and funding sources, in addition to the new structural works announced for Torres’ stadium.

The funding is part of the broader regional plan for municipal sports facilities, which also includes resources for other facilities in Sassari. Projects linked to the program include those for the former Palestra Coni and the Latte Dolce sports hall, as part of an overall allocation of funds for various sports-related works. The regional plan for sports facilities therefore covers multiple projects, each with its own facility and purpose.
