The stairways on Via Adelasia, in Sassari, will be the focus of a day of clean-up and community participation open to residents. On Saturday, October 24, from 4 pm, volunteers from Plastic Free and the Cappuccini Neighborhood Committee will collect rubbish in the area, with music in the afternoon and a get-together planned for the evening.
The event is for anyone who would like to help care for a public space frequented by local residents. To take part, the organizers invite people to bring gloves and bags, as well as a willingness to help with the collection. The activity will start at 4 pm and will be accompanied by music: the aim is to combine practical work with an opportunity for people in the neighborhood to meet.
The stairways connect the Cappuccini area with Viale Umberto. In the past, the area has been flagged for litter and signs of neglect. The day announced by the two organizers therefore aims to make a practical contribution to cleaning the area and to draw attention to the care of shared spaces, used every day by people who live nearby.
The clean-up will not be the only event on the program. Music will accompany the volunteers throughout the afternoon, while at 8 pm a barbecue is planned to bring the day to a close together. The initiative thus combines clean-up work with an opportunity to socialize, bringing together neighborhood residents and anyone else who would like to take part.
Waste management is also the focus of other city initiatives, such as the new waste regulations. For the event on Via Adelasia, the schedule announced includes a single start time for the activities: participants can make their way to the stairways from 4 pm and join the clean-up. The evening will then move on to the get-together, scheduled for 8 pm.
