EV charging stations in Sassari and surrounding areas: where to find them

Cover image for EV charging stations in Sassari and surrounding areas: where to find them

Finding an EV charging station in Sassari has gradually become easier. The city network now includes infrastructure from various operators and with different power ratings, ranging from alternating-current charging stations suitable for longer stops to DC Fast-charging stations. However, not all maps return the same results: some services also include destination chargers, private facilities or individual charging points listed as separate stations. For this guide, we have therefore selected some of the most useful options by cross-referencing multiple sources and prioritising public or easily accessible charging points.

Predda Niedda: one of the best areas for fast charging

For anyone looking for fast charging in Sassari, Predda Niedda is probably the area to consider most carefully.

At 21 Via Predda Niedda, in the McDonald's car park, there is a Plenitude On The Road station, formerly Be Charge, with a nominal output of up to 110 kW. Updated maps list three connections, and the station continues to be recorded among the city's fast-charging points.

Not far away, there is another option in the car park of the MD supermarket, at 1 Via Predda Niedda Strada. The A2A station offers CCS Combo 2 and CHAdeMO charging up to 50 kW, as well as 22 kW Type 2 sockets. An on-site check in 2025 confirmed that it was working, while Open Charge Map continues to list it as operational.

For anyone arriving in Sassari with a low battery or wanting to regain range before setting off again, Predda Niedda is therefore one of the most practical reference points.

Piazza Ortobene: Enel Fast charging up to 75 kW

Another interesting charging point is located in Piazza Ortobene.

The Enel station offers CCS Combo 2 charging up to 75 kW, CHAdeMO charging up to 62 kW and a 22 kW Type 2 option. A direct check carried out in 2025 recorded actual charging with a peak close to 70 kW, while several databases continue to list the charging point in 2026.

It is particularly useful for those in the northern part of the city who do not want to travel to the Predda Niedda commercial area.

Monserrato: Enel charging on Via Washington

The Monserrato area also has an Enel Fast station at 1 Via Washington.

Updated maps report a maximum output of approximately 72 kW, with CCS, CHAdeMO and AC charging.

However, databases do not fully agree on the access classification for this charging point. It is therefore particularly advisable to check its availability and accessibility in the operator's app before going there.

Emiciclo Garibaldi: charge while visiting the city centre

For those who need to leave their car for several hours in Sassari city centre, a different option is the SABA car park at Emiciclo Garibaldi.

SABA officially includes Sassari and the Emiciclo car park among its facilities equipped with EV charging, provided in collaboration with Enel. EV maps also continue to show an Enel station in the area in 2026.

It is not the ideal choice for anyone looking for a quick top-up, but it may be more appealing if the aim is to charge during a lengthy stop in the city centre.

EV charging stations around Sassari: Sorso and Alghero

There are other options outside the city.

In Sorso, in the 3º Pettine area, Powy officially lists its own charging infrastructure. The charging point is associated with the Marina di Sorso area, and other sources indicate Type 2 points of up to 22 kW. As this option is also linked to accommodation facilities, it is advisable to check access arrangements in advance.

In Alghero, one of the easiest-to-locate Fast options is at the Eni station at 209 Via Vittorio Emanuele II. The Enel charging station is listed with CCS and CHAdeMO charging up to 50 kW and is still present in databases updated in 2026.

Beware of the charging stations in Porto Torres

Porto Torres deserves separate consideration.

The city has several Enel facilities, but in July 2026 significant problems were reported: according to La Nuova Sardegna, three charging points located at Balai, Monte Angellu and Viale delle Vigne were out of service, while the working ones had very low charging outputs.

For example, some maps continue to list the station on Viale delle Vigne with a theoretical output of up to 50 kW. This shows why, when it comes to EV charging stations, simply appearing on the map is not enough to consider a charging point genuinely usable.

How to find an available charging station in real time

The status of the infrastructure can change quickly due to maintenance, occupied bays or network problems.

Before setting off, it is therefore always worth checking the charging station through the operator's app or a roaming service, checking availability, actual output, compatible connector and applicable tariff.

Enel provides its own map through Enel On Your Way, while Plenitude and Powy allow users to check their respective networks through their apps. These sources likewise specify that real-time availability must be checked through the dedicated digital services.

Charging an electric car in Sassari

The situation in Sassari is therefore better than it was a few years ago, especially thanks to the presence of several operators and some Fast-charging stations between 50 and 110 kW.

For a short stop, the facilities at Predda Niedda, Piazza Ortobene and Monserrato are among the most interesting options. For those leaving their car in the city centre for several hours, charging at Emiciclo Garibaldi may be more convenient.

The most important rule, however, remains this: always check the status of the charging station before setting off. In a network that continues to evolve, actual availability and output can change much more quickly than the address shown on the map.

Information verified and updated on 18 August 2026. Power ratings, tariffs, accessibility and operational status may vary: before setting off, it is advisable to consult the operator's app.
