Dinamo Sassari’spositive run comes to an end against Rimini. On Wednesday, October 21, at the PalaSerradimigni, Dole win 67-84 in the fifth round of Serie A2 2026/27. It is the second defeat of the season for Luca Vitali’s team, following consecutive wins over Mestre and Cento.
Banco are unable to repeat their 80-70 home win over Sella Cento. Their record now stands at three wins and two defeats, with both losses coming in front of their home crowd.
Sassari respond to Rimini’s fast start
The visitors make the early running, racing to an 0-9 lead. Sassari respond through Flood and Aromando, then take the lead at 18-15 with a three-pointer from Jeff Brooks.
The lead does not last long: Lenci and Simioni put Rimini back in front, and they close the first quarter 20-22.
The gap widens in the second quarter. Rimini go ahead 24-38; Banco fight back to within seven points, but three-pointers from Simioni and Tomassini help the visitors pull away again. The score at halftime is 36-50.
The comeback attempt falls short
The second half opens with another Dole surge, taking them to 36-56. Nze tries to spark Sassari’s response, and Banco close the gap to ten points.
The comeback bid is halted above all by Tomassini’s two three-pointers in the final seconds of the third quarter: Rimini enter the final ten minutes with a 50-66 lead.
In the final quarter the gap once again stretches beyond twenty points. Grande tries to rally Sassari, but Leardini’s three-pointer makes it 53-75, and the visitors remain in control through to the final score of 67-84.
Second home defeat; away to Ruvo on Sunday
The game leaves Banco short of the third consecutive win they were seeking against a top-level opponent. Sandro Dell’Agnello’s team had reached two consecutive playoff finals and won the 2025/26 Coppa Italia, as well as recently beating Mestre 91-76.
After their previous home loss to Montecatini, Sassari suffer another defeat at the PalaSerradimigni. There is another game right away: on Sunday, October 25 at 6 p.m., Dinamo will visit Crifo Wines Ruvo di Puglia at the PalaColombo.
