The Municipality of Sassari has commissioned Gian Production to negotiate the economic and organizational aspects of the concert with Friends Partners. The concert by Zucchero is scheduled for Thursday, December 31 in piazzale Segni. The agreement with the artist has not yet been signed: the process aims to bring the singer to the city for New Year’s Eve 2027.
The company in charge, led by Gian Stefano Murru, will have to define the terms with Friends Partners and handle the agreements needed for the event. Signing is the remaining step needed to formalize the concert, which the Municipality has already listed as a New Year’s Eve event. Zucchero’s involvement had been previewed with the announcement of the big name.
The total cost of organizing New Year’s Eve is estimated at around 1.6 million euros, combining municipal funds and regional contributions. The Region opened the application period for municipalities seeking support for year-end events from November 3 to 13; the regional contribution therefore cannot yet be considered secured. The funds earmarked for the initiative had also been the subject of a previous allocation.
According to estimates reported by the Municipality, the concert could draw at least 20,000 people to the stage area. Accommodation providers in the area are also seeing high demand: the monitoring cited in the article indicates that almost 90% of rooms are already booked for the night of December 31. The figure points to anticipation for the event, but is not a forecast of the actual attendance in the square.
Piazzale Segni had already hosted the 2026 New Year’s Eve concert featuring Max Pezzali. On that occasion, according to figures released by the Municipality, around 35,000 people had attended across the event area and nearby spaces: a useful precedent for putting the choice of the same venue into context, although those figures cannot automatically be applied to the 2027 event. The date given for the new concert is December 31; the agreement with the artist remains to be finalized.
