Water supply interruptions are scheduled in Sassari on Wednesday, November 4 in numerous neighborhoods, with closures in two different time slots. The plan is linked to extraordinary maintenance work by Enas on the Coghinas 2 aqueduct and to work scheduled by Abbanoa on the city network.

According to the announcement, the supply of raw water to the Truncu Reale and Monte Agnese treatment plants will be suspended for about twelve hours. The former serves Sassari, Porto Torres and Stintino; the latter supplies Alghero. Abbanoa will take advantage of the suspension to install new equipment on the Monte Oro–Li Punti pipeline and the Predda Niedda branch, thereby avoiding further closures.

In Sassari, the first time slot will affect areas supplied exclusively by the Truncu Reale treatment plant via the Monte Oro reservoir and pipeline. The second will affect areas served by the reservoir on Via Milano, supplied by Bidighinzu and supplemented with water from Truncu Reale via the Ponte Rosello pumping station.

  • From 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4: Historic center, Monte Rosello Basso, Sacro Cuore, Latte Dolce, Santa Maria di Pisa, Porcellana, Piandanna, Caniga, Bancali–La Landrigga, Li Punti, Sant’Orsola Nord, Sant’Orsola Storica, Ottava and the Predda Niedda industrial area.
  • From 8 p.m. on Wednesday to 8 a.m. on Thursday, November 5: Lu Fangazzu, San Paolo, San Giuseppe, Cappuccini, Monserrato, Porcellana Alta, Tingari, Monte Rosello Medio, Sassari 2, Badde Pedrosa, Monte Furru, Valle Gardona and Gioscari.
  • No closures are scheduled in Luna e Sole, Prunizzedda, Monte Rosello Alto and Carbonazzi, which are supplied by the Quota 300 reservoir at Serra Secca.

Different measures are planned in the other towns in the island’s northwest. In Porto Torres, water will be supplied from the Li Pidriazzi wells, which will temporarily replace the supply from Truncu Reale. In Stintino town, the reserves in the municipal reservoirs will be used; interruptions are instead scheduled in Pozzo San Nicola and the surrounding countryside, from 2 p.m. on November 4 to 1 p.m. on November 5. In Alghero, the Monte Agnese treatment plant will be supplied from stored reserves and via the Enas connection to the La Crucca weir.

For residents in the affected areas, the time slots listed should be used to plan household needs before the suspensions. A previous water shutoff in the city, scheduled for October 20, was linked to a different work program and different times: details are available in the report on the October water shutoff.
