A day of possible disruption to the water service in Sassari. For Thursday 20 August 2026, Abbanoa has scheduled extraordinary maintenance work on the network near the railway crossing at Tana di Lu Mazzoni.
The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will temporarily make a main supply pipe unusable. During the work, there may therefore be drops in pressure and temporary interruptions to the water supply in several neighbourhoods of the city.

The first period of possible disruption concerns the areas supplied by the Monte Oro reservoir.
From 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., there could be supply problems in the following neighbourhoods:
- Centro Storico
- Monte Rosello Basso
- Sacro Cuore
- Santa Maria di Pisa
- Latte Dolce
- Porcellana, hospital area
- Piandanna
Abbanoa specifies that these may be drops in pressure or temporary interruptions, depending on the progress of the work and the reserves available in the network.
Possible disruption overnight also in the upper area
A second period will instead affect the neighbourhoods supplied by the reservoir on Via Milano.
In these areas, disruption may occur from 11 p.m. on Thursday 20 August until 6 a.m. on Friday 21 August:

- San Paolo
- San Giuseppe
- Monserrato
- Porcellana
- Tingari
- Valle Gardona
- Gioscari
- Monte Rosello Medio
- Sassari 2
- Monte Furru
- Badde Pedrosa
Here too, there may be reductions in pressure and temporary suspensions of the service.
When will the water supply return to normal
Abbanoa explains that technicians will seek to keep the duration of the disruption to a minimum and that the supply may be restored ahead of schedule if the work is completed earlier than expected.
When the service is restored, the water may temporarily appear cloudy due to the emptying and subsequent refilling of the pipes. The phenomenon should be temporary.

Residents of the affected neighbourhoods can therefore plan accordingly, taking the two main periods into account: from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the areas supplied by Monte Oro and from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. for those connected to the reservoir on Via Milano.
This is not a total shutdown already scheduled for all of Sassari, but rather possible interruptions and drops in pressure resulting from the work on the network.
