A new week of speed checks is beginning along Sardinia’s main roads. The Traffic Police have published the schedule of mobile speed-camera checkpoints planned through Sunday, August 23, 2026.

The Sassari area will also be affected by several checks, focused mainly on the SS 131 Carlo Felice, the SS 131 Diramazione Centrale Nuorese and the SS 729 Sassari-Olbia.

Wednesday, August 19 on the Sassari-Olbia road

The first check of the week in the Sassari area is scheduled for Wednesday, August 19.

The Traffic Police will carry out checks on the:

  • SS 729 Sassari-Olbia, in the province of Sassari.

The new four-lane road is one of northern Sardinia’s main routes and is particularly busy during the summer period.

Thursday, August 20 on the 131 DCN

On Thursday, August 20, checks will instead concern the:

  • SS 131 Diramazione Centrale Nuorese, in the Sassari area.

On the same day, checkpoints will also be set up along the Nuoro section of the same route.

Checks on two state roads on Friday

The day with the highest number of checks in the Sassari area will be Friday, August 21.

The checkpoints are scheduled on:

  • SS 131 Carlo Felice, province of Sassari;
  • SS 131 Diramazione Centrale Nuorese, province of Sassari.

Checks on the Carlo Felice will also be carried out in the Cagliari area on the same day.

Speed cameras also over the weekend

Checks will continue on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, August 22 a checkpoint is scheduled on the:

  • SS 131 Diramazione Centrale Nuorese, province of Sassari.

On Sunday, August 23, checks will instead concern both main routes:

  • SS 131 Carlo Felice, province of Sassari;
  • SS 131 Diramazione Centrale Nuorese, province of Sassari.

For Tuesday, August 18, however, the regional schedule published by the State Police does not indicate any mobile checkpoints in the Sassari area.

Checks published every week

The State Police periodically makes public the schedule of roads affected by mobile speed-detection devices.

The stated aim is above all to encourage motorists to respect speed limits and reduce the risk of accidents, by announcing in advance the routes on which checks are scheduled.

The schedule concerns mobile checkpoints planned by the Traffic Police and should not be considered a complete list of every possible speed check carried out along the roads.

For those traveling through northern Sardinia in the coming days, therefore, the advice remains the same with or without speed cameras: go easy on the accelerator and respect the speed limits throughout the journey.
