Starting Wednesday, November 4, Sassari residents will be able to submit TARI declarations online to activate, amend or close an account. The procedure will be available on the online services portal of the Municipality of Sassari and will allow users to track the process and exchange messages with the administration without visiting the service desks.

To access the service, users must identify themselves with SPID, CIE or CNS. The procedures cover three types of request:

  • activation of a new TARI account;
  • amendment of the details of an existing account;
  • closure of the account.

In their personal area, users can already view their outstanding balance, see payment notices sent by the Municipality and check payments made. Users can also enter updated information or report any incomplete or incorrect details, which will be reviewed by the offices. A 2026 TARI guide is also available for information on notices and payment methods.

Declarations submitted are reviewed by the municipal offices, which verify their accuracy. If the outcome of the review is positive, the information is accepted and the TARI database is updated. Users can track the process, which follows the standards set by ARERA. The Municipality also plans to gradually expand the data available for consultation, including details about properties relevant to the calculation, such as cadastral data and applied rates.

Three practical guides for declarations to activate, amend and close household accounts are available on the municipal website. The procedure for non-household accounts is equivalent, but the request must include the details of the legal representative of the legal entity named on the account. For information and assistance with TARI, the Municipality provides the toll-free number 800 776 411.

The councillor for technological innovation and tax policy, Giuseppe Masala, presented the service as part of the expansion of the Municipality’s digital channels, with the aim of making dealings with the administration simpler and more transparent. The portal’s personal area already allows users to view local taxes and submit requests online.
